Getting There by Air

Airport Sign Glasgow is served by two airports - Glasgow Airport and Prestwick International.

Glasgow Airport is situated only 8 miles from the city centre. The easiest way to get to and from the city centre by public transport is by bus.

There are regular direct bus services which depart from the airport terminal. There are two direct services so the frequency is very good as they run every 15 minutes or so. The Arriva Glasgow Flyer is the quickest at 15-20 minutes and the fare is £4.20 single. The bus stop for this service is opposite the arrivals exit. The other service is from First Transport, the 747 Air Link which costs only £2.90 single. Bus stop for this is accross from the exit near the car park entrance. Both services will take you to George Square which is less than 2 minutes walk from the apartment which is in Miller Street. (see Location ) It is equally as easy to get the bus back to the airport and services are very frequent.

There is no railway station at Glasgow Airport. However it is possible to take an airport bus to the nearest station (about 2 miles) which is Paisley Gilmour Street. The cost of the rail ticket includes the bus transfer from the airport to the station. The train will then arrive at Central Station which is less than a ten minute walk from the apartment.

There are also of course plenty taxis available. The taxi fare is approximately £18.
(All fares quoted above correct at time of writing but are of course subject to change)

There are many flights to Glasgow Airport including Easy Jet (Look for special promotions on the Easy Jet website as fares from LONDON for example can be very reasonable); British Airways; BMI and from further afield American Airlines; Air Canada and Aer Lingus.
