GETTING TO TURNBERRY BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT
The easiest way to travel to Turnberry golf course is by train. The nearest train station to the Ailsa course is Girvan and during the championship there will be a special bus link from Girvan station to the Open. The following details have been taken from National Rail website.
From Wednesday to Saturday buses will be provided from 0630 until 2030 and on Sundays from 0830 until 2000. Golflink customers are asked to note while every effort is made to ensure connections at Girvan, the return bus/rail connection is not guaranteed. At busy times around 30 minutes should be allowed from boarding the bus to arriving at the station.
Customers who require assistance should contact 0800 912 2901. Buses will have facilities for wheelchairs.
The cost of travel will be the railfare from your local station to Girvan plus £5.00 add-on return bus fare. The child fare will be plus £2.50. Concession card holders will be able to use passes on board the shuttle Stagecoach buses. No Railcard discounts apply. Holders of Railcards may purchase a discounted rail ticket to Girvan and, on arrival at Girvan, a separate bus ticket from Stagecoach staff.
